We are going on 4 weeks since we were told that we are about $45,000 over budget in UB but still have not received an update as promised that shows why and where the money has gone. Norris just keeps claiming that they are working on it.
Norris Sanders reports that after a more recent review budget crisis may not be as severe as first thought. Instead of a $45,000 deficit, there appears to be a smaller $25,000 deficit for UB. Sanders declares that the nearly $90,000 spent on rent/utilities is not the big drain on the budget that one would assume. He claims that a recent examination places the budget crisis in the lap of increasing employee benefits and overspending (summer staff; instructors, tutors, etc.). The math in his equation does not make sense.
Norris revealed in his meeting with Munyiga on 4/6/11, that there would possibly be a need for Him, Joe Omega and Munyiga to meet to discuss UBMS staffing concerns. He insinuated that there might be a need to change the UBMS staffing numbers.
So the director isn't getting paid more, and two staff were not renewed, and the director is getting 2/3 pay and we're in the hole but no one knows how much. Why is it taking so long to figure out how to steal more money?
Hmmmm. How long does it take for a director to be out of touch with the finances before the AG or some other monitoring agency notices? Hmmmm. Ms. Lee's office should follow the money.
today's meeting indicated that there is information but it's not being shared. Seems like a way to blame others has been found, and that's what will happen. We will take the blame for spending too much money. What else is new? the director and the chair won't own anything.
thanks to Joe and Mauricio, not to forget Keith, who reviewed the information obtained through FOIA and determined that the budget for the programs is not nearly what was being presented to us by the chair of the department, the XO who has departed, and the director. It was all made up, and did not reflect the real charges posted in ledgers. What Up?
